Ship Ropax 1, anchored in front of El Rinconcillo beach, in Algeciras, and having crashed against the buoy property of Refinería Gibraltar-San Roque, owned by Compañía Española de Petróleos S.A. (CEPSA), on Saturday the 13th of December 2008, still continues creating pollution problems in Bahía de Algeciras.

West wind storming and a bad planning and control in the Bahía area were the collision's causes. The ship even scratched the buoy and today, a week later, dumpings go on appearing in the Bahía.

With west wind, fuel stains made theirselves visible in San Roque (Campamento), Poniente and Puerto Chico beaches in La Linea, and also in Gibraltar. So yesterday and today, at this very moment, with west wind, fuel is polluting Algeciras» beaches of La Concha and El Rinconcillo.

El Campo de Gibraltar's Ecologistas En Acción denounce the bad planning existing in the Bahia de Algeciras and political administrations belonging to the Junta de Andalucia (the vice-president, mr. Gaspar Zarrías and government's subdelegate in Campo de Gibraltar, mr. Rafael España), accusing them of tryings on manipulating Campo de Gibraltar's media with the goal to hide environmentalist's denunciations.
