Ecologistas en Acción, on the occasion of the World Water Day, that will took place the 22nd of March, complain to the President of the Government to modify completely the present hydraulic policy, to advance towards a more rational and environmental management of the water that rejects the construction of new transfers and great dams.

Already, almost a year ago the President of the Government, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, made the previous Minister of Environment, Cristina Narbona, resigns and he eliminate the Ministry of Environment, incorporating it in the Ministry of Agriculture. Since then the management of water has gone from bad to worse. The new Ministry of Environment, Rural and Marine, to which the competitions of the management of water were assigned, has defined itself this year by the paralysation of all the initiated water policies in the previous legislature, and by a complete inactivity.

Thereby, the initiatives directed to a more rational management of the water have been paralyzed. Also the possibility of the creation of new transfers has been reopened, promoting the reopening of the conflicts that these infrastructures produced between different Autonomous Communities that were forgetting little by little.

The current responsibles of the management of the water are submitting themselves in an embarrassing way to the demands of the agrarian organizations, and even criticizing some infrastructures that the Ministry of Environment began to build to resolve the supposed water deficiencies, like are the desalinating, simply because the agrarian organizations are not prepared to pay the price that corresponds to water.

On the contrary, the present responsibles in charge on the management of the water have turned the back on the ecological organizations, ignoring their demands, and even denying any type of relation with them.
