    Coalición Clima has asked for a meeting with President José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero. The objective is to let him know the proposals made by the civil society facing the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit and the Spanish Presidency of the European Union

  • Great success of the Sharks seminar

    The "Sharks, Ecology, Fisheries and Problems" conference held last 25 and 27 of April, organised by Ecologistas en Acción of Cadiz and the University Association "Submarinists in Action" had a high attendance, with the objective of informing on the current state of shark and mantaray populations, as well as the problems they are faced with.

  • Eleven Years from the Aznalcóllar Catastrophe

    The mining area of Aznalcóllar is still being “battered” in the 11th anniversary of the catastrophe. Instead of revitalising the polluted ground and use an inerting system to give back the mining area part of its original appearance, the Andalusian Regional Government maintains its self-interested policy of inactivity before the devastating panorama offered by the mining facilities, eleven years after the environmental disaster.

  • Alianza contra la pobreza supports demonstrations against climate change

    To fight against climate change is to fight against poverty. For that reason, Alianza Española contra la Pobreza (Spanish Alliance against Poverty), of which Ecologistas en Acción belongs to, made the fight against climate change their own.

  • Spanish Government Favours Food Speculation

    Nowadays there are hundreds of mobilizations against food speculation and in favour of Food Sovereignty in the World. La Via Campesina, an international network that represents 120 million rural families, impels them. Ecologistas en Acción, as member of the Rural Platform, joins these mobilizations with different actions. We also call all the citizens tomorrow, 18th April, in Zaragoza to demonstrate for non-genetically modified agriculture and food.

  • The Charcoal (Biochar) Will not Stop the Climate Change

    An international declaration was launched by 147 organizations from 44 countries - between them Ecologistas en Acción - being opposed to the increasing tendency and political support that is being given to biochar.

  • Deplorable management of water by the Ministry of Environment

    Ecologistas en Acción, on the occasion of the World Water Day, that will took place the 22 of March, complain to the President of the Government to modify completely the present hydraulic policy, to advance towards a more rational and environmental management of the water that rejects the construction of new transfers and great dams.

  • Rejection to the construction and the increase of new dams

    Ecologistas en Accion join themselves to all the people that reject the construction and increase of new dams in the International Day, against the Great Dams, that will be celebrated the 14 of March.

  • In favour of the complete standstill of the port of Granadilla

    Ecologistas en Acción, Greenpeace, SEO/Birdlife and WWF are demanding urgent intervention on the part of the Ministry of the Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs. They want to defend the Marine Ecosystem of the Canary Islands. They also eager for the annulment of the environmental impact statement of the port of Granadilla, (Tenerife).
